Program Chair, CHIFOO, 2000-Present  

As Program Chair for CHIFOO (Computer Human Interface Forum Of Oregon) Leo's responsibilities include developing the program series for the year, heading the Programs Committee, recruiting speakers and managing the logistics for the program evenings. In addition, Leo sits on the CHIFOO Executive Council, helping to establish long-range policy for the organization.

The 2001-2002 program series: "Towards a New </Information> Architecture brings a variety of voices and viewpoints to discuss this overblown term.

In addition to his duties as Program Chair, Leo has also presented twice to CHIFOO: "Plan AHEAD—A usability deconstruction of a software application" and "Towards a New </Information> Architecture".


 
President, Board of Directors, Odyssey Montessori School, 1999-Present  

Odyssey Montessori School, Inc. is a Portland, Oregon based elementary level Montessori program. Established in 1999 by Leo and 20 other parents dedicated to Montessori education, Odyssey has become a shining example of the elementary Montessori curriculum in Portland. In his role as President of the Board, Leo helps establish long-term goals for the school, builds Odyssey as an institution, and provides a clear vision for the future.


 
Vice-President, Board of Directors, Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association, 2000-Present
(Land Use Chair 1999-2000)
 

Portland, Oregon's political structure starts with its neighborhoods. As a Director on the Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association's board, Leo has helped shape neighborhood policy and has acted as a liaison between the neighborhood and neighboring businesses.

In his role as Land Use Chair, Leo worked with local businesses and institutions to help ensure that their growth plans were consistent with the character and plans for Eastmoreland.
