Resume (of sorts)
I've been employed as a UNIX Systems Administrator since mid-1994 at a large, multi-national corporation. During this tenure I've been responsible for everything from front line support to server administration to security to systems programming. I even spent a couple of years as a manager of a software development and support team.Services I've supported include: MySQL, Apache, OpenLDAP, Majordomo, Sendmail, Zope.
Programming languages I am competent in: Perl, C/C++ (including the STL), shell
Interesting stuff I've worked on:
- Developed a filesystem crawler to scan for controlled technology on NFS filesystems, using an in-house, raw RPC library for speed and client/server architecture for parallelism
- Developed an Apache authentication module to authenticate users against our company-specific Active Directory infrastructure via Kerberos, and utilizing cookies to maintain sessions
- Developed certificate brokering system for UNIX servers to obtain certificates from a Windows-based CA.
- Developed password change utility capable of simultaneously changing NIS and AFS passwords for users with accounts in multiple domains and AFS cells
