Stuff
Improvisational comedy. I started taking workshops and classes back in 2002 and am now performing with ComedySportz in Portland. I was also a member of ComedySportz in Eugene prior to their closure in early 2006. In addition to short-form, game-based improv, I've also been involved with a number of past and present long-form improvisation projects in the Portland area, including the ensembles CHIMP and Bumpadoom.Kites. Living an hour from the beach has a lot of advantages, one of which is the opportunity to spend a ridiculous amount of money on an occasional hobby. I own a wide variety of kites, both single- and dual-line.
Electronica. If the names Fluke, The Chemical Brothers, überzone and BT aren't familiar, or if you think acid is a hallucinogen, then you need to read Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Dance Music. My XM radio receiver is almost always set to one of channels 82 and 84.
Cooking. Give me a charcoal grill, a cast-iron pan, a pizza stone or any recipe involving quality chocolate, and I'm good to go. I make a mean Chicago-style pizza, and I once spent over four hours baking a white chocolate opera cake completely from scratch.
Critters
Dogs. We have two greyhounds, one of them a retired racer and one a complete mystery, and an Irish Wolfhound. And be sure to check out our live Dog Cams for exciting sighthound inaction.Guinea pigs. At one time we had seven, though now we have none. During our cavy heyday, I created one of the more comprehensive guinea pig care sites on the Web.

Pictures. We take 'em with a Nikon D70. See our sets at flickr.Blog. Courtesy of LiveJournal.
A brief biography
I was born and raised in Illinois and attended college at Purdue University in Indiana. After receiving my B.S. and M.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, I moved to Portland, Oregon with my (now) wife to begin a life as a UNIX systems administrator and system programmer. I miss the thunderstorms, the corn and Monical's Pizza, but not the snow or the humidity.
