Dear Sirs, I just found this site and wanted you to know that the Destroyer DD 752 USS Alfred A. Cunningham was present and participated in Operation Wigwam in 1955. I was a RD3 on the Cunningham and stood watch in the CIC during the test. I was diagnosed with prostate Cancer in June 1999 and with surgery I seem to be recovered.

I received a certificate from the government for taking part in operations wigwam as did several of my former shipmates. I got it in 1958 in the mail. The date on the test was May 1955, When others who had been on the ship with us wrote to the government to request their copies of the certificate they were told there never was such an operation.

I was discharged in May 1956. Thank you for all the research and information you have provided on this web site. We will be having a reunion in Biloxi MS on September 16-19 2002.

Thank you again.
