| Aviator Bill Vaughn The aircraft is an AD-4 Skyraider, by Douglas Aircraft Corp., the "A" is for attack; the "D" is for Douglas; and the "4" means the fourth modification, or mod., of this aircraft which doesn't change its outward appearance. |

| Detonation Cloud, Christmas Island The atomic drop was one of the early drops, probably made in May of '62. That's the best I can place this picture. And, I may be wrong about the time this picture was taken...but it's around May. |
