The aircraft is an AD-4 Skyraider, by Douglas Aircraft Corp., the "A" is for attack; the "D" is for Douglas; and the "4" means the fourth modification, or mod., of this aircraft which doesn't change its outward appearance.

The atomic drop was one of the early drops, probably made in May of '62. That's the best I can place this picture. And, I may be wrong about the time this picture was taken...but its around May.
