New Declassified Documents

Operation Tumbler-Snapper was the third series of atomic bomb tests at the Nevada Test Site. This year scientific experiments and measurements were greatly increased along with troop participation. Eight detonations were fired, four of which were air drops and four were located on towers.

United States Atomic Veterans

Charles Christian was assigned to the 369th Engineer Amphibious
Support Regiment.

Clark Caldwell served with the 140th Fighter-Bomber Wing at Charlie Shot.

Stanley R. Cook was with Co. F, 504 th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division.

James R. McClintock was with 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division.

Charles Dial was with the 3205 Target Drone Squadron.

Robert Stroup was with Co. H, 504th battalion of the 82nd Airborne.

Paul Gustafson was in Co. E, Shore Bn, 369th Engineer Amphibious
Support Regiment

Bumed patch

Robert M. (Bob) Campbell, Jr. who was with the Biomedical Unit #1 USN at Greenhouse, Tumbler Snapper and Upshot Knothole has passed away.

Bruce Thiede was an equipment operater in the US Army, Co. D 369th EASR at Camp Mercury, Nevada.

Isaac Riches with the 140th Motor Vehicle Sqd., Clovis AFB, in the trenches for Shot Charlie has passed away.

Bruce Bastian waited in the trenches with a squad of Air Force, Army and Navy personnel, for Shot Charlie at Tumbler-Snapper.

Marvin "Pat" Campbell, was with the 3623 Medium Maintenance Company at Buster/Jangle and Tumbler/Snapper.
