Dear Mrs. Robinson,

You have previously heard from Colonel Bertram and General Glantzberg in regard to the loss of your husband during our operations at the Eniwetok Proving Ground. I desire to add my own expression of sympathy.

Your husband, Captain Robinson, was lost at Eniwetok Atoll while endeavoring to reach the air strip after his fuel had become exhausted during the performance of a highly important mission in connection with Atomic Energy Commision tests.

General Blantzberg and I have recommended that the air field at Eniwetok be officially named ROBINSON AIR FORCE BASE in honor of your husband's memory. If the recommendation is approved, General Blantzberg and I will represent you at the dedication ceremony and will give you a full report.

I want to assure you of my deepest sympathy and my sincere desire to be of any assistance to you.

Sincerely yours,

P.W. Clarkson
Major General, U. S. Army
Commander, Joint Task Force 132
