Three techniques were used to minimize the hazard of radioactive fallout, higher towers, balloon detonations and airdrops.
The narrator said," It is well understood that if the fireball touches the ground or is sufficently close to suck up earth dust or debris into the fireball, radio fission products will adhere to these materials and fall more readily as increased local fallout."
