Keith,

I was on the O'Brien DD 725.

I remember being told we were going on a "training cruise" and next thing I knew we were at Wigwam.

I can not recall having any preparation for this operation. If they had radiation badges they neglected to tell me about it.

A friend was the laundryman. He got to wash all the contaminated clothing. I heard he was eaten up with cancer only months after leaving the O'Brien and passed away.

I lost 45 pounds in a few months and was diagnosed as sterile due to the test. Not in writing though.

I don't know how close O'Brien was to ground zero. If the info is out there let me know.
