Served aboard the USS Curtiss (AV-4) during "Operation Greenhouse" in the Marshall Islands in 1951.

We finally had the first ever Curtiss reunion at San Diego in early May, It consisted of members of all the Marine Detachments involved in the tests from 1951 to 1956. I forwarded your E-Mail to some of the prime movers who have E-Mail. We also have a roster of all members we have located to date, as well of those we know are deceased. Cunday and Riggins did the bulk of the research.

As for myself, I was a Corporal at the time and was selected for flight training at Pensacola in 1952. Upon completion, I was comissioned a Second Lieutenant and found myself in Korea shortly thereafter. In later years, I served two tours in Vietnam, and retired in 1971 as a Lieutenant Colonel. The Marines I served with on the Curtiss were among the finest I knew during my entire career.

Good luck in your efforts, and best regards.

Jack Kruse
