I looked at all the pictures and names of the ships. But nobody mentioned the sister ship of the Salt Lake City, the Pensacola. Did anyone from the Pensacola log in. If so, have them send me an email or write me.

I was a butcher on the Pensacola and was sent back aboard the Pensacola after each test. After able I was in the butcher shop when two civilians came in with machines and tested the butcher shop. They kicked me because it was to hot to be in there.

They dogged down the hatch and wrote some number on the hatch. But they have no record of this. They also said my badge showed I received no radiation. I never had a badge which they admitted later on. Same for the second test only I couldn't get into the shop.

I got colon cancer in 1972 and in 1980 I had thyroid problems. I filed a claim in 1972 but it was denied. I appealed three times and every time it was denied.

In the 90s I was told my records where tampered with. The lawyer was put in jail. So they reopened my case. Now they want NEW information.

I could go on and on. I sure would like to hear from other Pensacola shipmates.

Thanks again,
Fred Kinzel
