Subject: Operation Ivy

Sirs: I served in Operation Ivy on Eniwetok Atoll from April 1951 to March of 1953. I was in the 511th Port Co. I remember the awesome cloud. If we did not have glasses were told to turn our backs to the blast. I felt the heat, shock wave, and the ship rolled. Went back to the island next day.

I also remember s...head, the dog that would wait at the bus stop, get on and get off where he wanted to. I would like to hear from other vets that were in the 511th Port Co. 1952-1953.
