B. Entrapment of Fission Products by Soil Debris and Water from Megaton Bombs in the Pacific.
It is assumed that approximately 1,000,000 tons of soil were coated with fission products and sucked into the stem and mushroom of the Ivy (R) MIKE cloud. If the ratio of inactive soil to active soil is 100 to 1 then approximately one hundred million tons of soil debris and water were thrown up during this shot.
