Don Hrivnak would like to hear from anybody that served aboard the USS Badoeng Straits especially in the OR or OA divisions, during Operation Redwing.

I was on the old Bing Ding and was in the OR division. Rate was TE3. I sat radioteletype watches. I remember a few guys. One named Larson and a couple a guys transferred from the old Essex CV9. I remember one officer named Sayter, he was a full Ensign at the time and made JG on the cruise. I also remember an Aerographers mate (weather guesser) named Daller.

I saw a few shots from the flight deck and felt the heat. After that I never went up for a shot.

I have four children and they all have disabilities from mental retardation and learning disabilities. I belong to the NAAV.

Any info please let me know.. The Bing Ding wasn't the neatest looking ship in the fleet, but boy! was it a good feeder.
