Walter Petreyko was assigned to the Red Cross from the 4th Infantry.

Charles B. Frank, Jr., CT3, was stationed at the Navy Communications Unit #35 Yokosuka, Japan and visited Hiroshima in 1950.

Wilder William Burlison Jr. was a bull dozer operator for the Army and cleared the roads into the cities just days after the A-bomb had destroyed the Japanese cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

Bob Stivanson was stationed aboard the USS Indianapolis which carried the nuclear fuel to the assembly area at Tinian. These weapons were used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Henry Dittmer went ashore at Hiroshima in October, 1945, as a Medic and tells what he saw there. He also sent us five photographs taken while he toured the ruins of the 1st city blasted by the atomic bomb. They can be seen by clicking on the link below.
