My name is Joe Henderson and I am a Colonel, USAF-Ret. My "atomic" connection is that I was the USAF action officer for the radiological cleanup of Enewetak Atoll. This duty was when I was assigned to the Air Staff/AFLGXX at the Pentagon in 1976-1977. Duties included a rather long TDY to Enewetak to prepare the Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA) cleanup plan. I would be interested in exchanging email on the entire operation.

I was in our college library last night when I ran across your web page. The stories were very interesting. I have quite a bit of unclassified information as to the clean up of Enewetak Atoll. It references some of the Bikini Atoll clean up that wasn't handled very well. It is all very informative and somewhat continues the stories that the vets have regarding the early duties when the testing was going on.
