Keith,

I was a SH3, Shipserviceman 3rd Class, on the USS Silverstein, DE 534. I do remember how bright the blasts were, even though we were not looking directly at it. I did get to look at a blast with the special goggles and remember that the colors of the mushroom cloud were ever changing and it was just beautiful but at the same time I felt it was very destructive. It was awesome!

I was everybody's friend, the laundryman, operated the ships store, cut hair, etc.

Thanks again,

Clyde Fry
