This Thor rocket and atomic warhead burned on the launch pad, contaminating a large area with deadly plutonium. P2V aircraft like this one, flew suppression patrols in the Danger Area.

The USS Princeton, moved in close to the detonation area. This B-52 bomber dropped the hydrogen bombs.
