Gentlemen:
I received word late this afternoon (Maine time) that the United States Senate unanimously passed Senator Snowe's resolution proclaiming "Sunday, July 16, 2000, the fifty-fifth anniversary of the first atomic explosion, is designated as a National Day of Remembrance honoring veterans exposed to radiation in the line of military duty, and the President is urged to issue a Proclamation observing the day and paying tribute to these Americans who have had to fight so hard to get the recognition and the benefits they deserve.
The measure also expresses the sense of the Senate that the VA should take
steps to ensure veterans exposed to radiation in service to their country are awarded the benefits they deserve."
Gentlemen: From now and for all time July 16th belongs to us!
Senator Snow's Washington, D.C. telephone number is: 202-224-5334. Let the word go forth that we must bombard that phone number with our sincere appreciation for this lady's generous and unselfish act on our behalf.
Terry Brady: Thanks to you for your valiant efforts. Truly this was a joint project and you are equally deserving of praise.
To all: We might not get much of a celebration up and running since the 16th is just a day away, but now we can make some concrete plans to make Trinity's 56th anniversary a real winner.
Love to all
Robert L. (Rob) Campbell.
