At the age of 19, I Participated in Operation Dominic 1, Swordfish, in 1962 while serving aboard the USS Hopewell (DD-681). I really don't remember too much about the operation. I do remember being on deck with life jacket, helmet and pant legs tucked in. And I also remember cameras all over the ship and the violent reaction from the base surge hitting the ship. That's about it.

I did have some certificates for participation from Joint Task Force 8. Can't find them now, but wish I still had them.

My health problems include thyroid, arthritis and a blood disorder with a disability rating of 30%. I work for the DOD on a large military base in facility management. My children, all born after the test are diabetic (no family history).
