Hi, I just got on the internet recently and I found your NAAV stories. I
enjoyed them very much.
I was a radio operator aboard the USS Ajax during the Able & Baker tests.
I thought it interesting to read about the descriptions of the Bomb
Blasts from some of the people that were there.
I would like to tell you, I heard broadcasts from the Mt. McKinley as to how the bomb looked days before the first bomb was exploded. It was a rehearsal that was going to be broadcast back to the states after the bomb went off. I guess that was
in case things didn't go as planned. I am sure the people that made the
rehearsals know what I am talking about.
I am curious if you have any information about people having "Ulcerated
Colitis" that served on the Ajax. I am 73 years old now and contacted
colitis when I was 69 years old. Also I have a friend that also was on
the Ajax that has the same thing as I do and he lives here in Fremont,
California.
