| Over 3 weekends in August of 2006, I paddled 114 miles of the Willamette
river in Oregon. I was busy paddling, and not taking pictures, but here
are a few, in no particular order.

The view of the stern. I took the wood boat on the first weekend, but after dragging it over rocks, asphalt boat launches, and through creasote coated locks, I decided to take an old plastic boat I'd picked up used a few years before. After putting in new seats and taking the dings out of the hull, it turned out to be a great boat. |

One of the lunch/nap stops along the way. In most places the current was moving along pretty nicely. It was no trouble putting in 25-30 mile days. |
| This was the view from a great campsite at Grand Island, just north of Wheatland Ferry. |

An outlaw camp on the Mollalla River. Closer to Portland the concentration of powerboats increased. By the end of this day, I was really tired of the noise and wakes. I turned off the Willamette, and up the Mollalla River and paddled/waded a mile or so upstream to find this wonderful little camp site. |
