News: The Day the Music Died
Portland,Oregon -- Sunday, August 11, 1996, the rock group Quarterflash
played their final performance at "The Bite of Portland", a benefit for
Oregon Special Olympics at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. The group released
4 albums during their 15 year existence (their first album "Quarterflash"
went platinum). They will also be remembered for performing the title song
to the 1982 movie "Night Shift".
To paraphrase a theme from Star Trek: They aren't really gone as long
as we remember them.
