As Pearl Harbor Survivor Cecil Herald will tell you
"You can't change human nature, and history repeats itself."

On Sept. 11, 2001, America's soil was again attacked! And, as before, when Americans rushed to clear the rubble, one of the first things to happen was the raising of the flag!

We salute those men and women who died in that attack and send our deepest sympathies to their families.

PHSA Chapter Chaplain, Warren Law emailed us.
"Bridget - I think you did a wonderful job on the website and expressed my opinion perfectly. The only thing I would suggest is the statement that the PEARL HARBOR SURVIVORS understand how the people of New York and Washington D.C. feel. This is just my opinion but from talking to others I know it is shared my most, it not all, Survivors."

The firemen in this photo represent the homeland defenders in the days immediately following this fateful tragedy. We appreciate their loss of comrades and the hard work that they have put into searching for them and the fruitless search they made for more survivors. The loss of life in New York's World Trade Center is now set at almost 3,000, representing more than 40 countries. We mourn the passing of each soul. Those scenes of September 11 will remain vivid in the minds of all Americans and the horror of that event is shared with many citizens around the world.

Let us endeavor to make sure that this sort of attack on innocent civilians can not happen again anywhere in the world, both by punishing the guilty and by making friends with the innocent.

President George W. Bush has been wise in his measured response. Let's pray that he continues with the thoughfulness of assuring all Islamic people that we do not wish to infringe on their worship of their religion as this is a basic, fundamental right of all Americans.

May mistakes in our past foreign policy which may have led to this desire to attack our country be corrected in our future dealings with other nations. We must learn from current events as well as seek justice for senseless acts of violence.

The past can show us a path for the future and along that path we should find the lessons to help us all make a better place in the world for all peoples.
