Breeding Contract

This stallion breeding contract for the breeding season of ________ is made and entered into _____(date) by and between Shawna Reppert, hereafter "stallion owner" and _________________, hereafter "mare owner/lessee", for the breeding of the mare_________________, registration #__________, to the registered Lipizzan stallion Pluto III Canada, via artificial insemination by fresh, cooled semen for the fee of $1000.00, including non-refundable $250.00 booking fee to be paid upon signing and return of contract, balance to be paid before first shipment of semen.

Mare owner/ lessee agrees to have mare inspected by qualified veterinarian for breeding soundness before entering into the contract, or will forfeit live foal guarantee and right of return breeding.

Fee includes first collection, delivery, and rental of shipping container.

This contract is "LIVE FOAL GUARANTEE". A live foal is defined for the purpose of the contract as a newborn foal that is able to stand and suck. If a foal is born dead, the mare owner must notify the stallion owner within 10 days and provide a veterinarian certificate of death. Mare owner then has the privilege of return breeding for the subsequent season at collection cost only.

If mare does not conceive on the first breeding, subsequent collections will be charged at cost, approximately $250.00. If mare does not conceive the first season, mare owner has the privilege of return breeding to same mare the following season at collection cost only.

If mare dies or is certified barren by a veterinarian before the contract is completed, mare owner may substitute another mare upon approval of stallion owner.

If the stallion dies before the contract is completed, the contract is void and the breeding fee, less any shipping and collection costs actually incurred, will be returned to the mare owner.

This contract cannot be sold or assigned without the written consent of the stallion owner.
