Birthday. Mine. Treats: Bottle, Mountain Dome, Brut Rosé. DVD, Almodóvar, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Bottle drunk (tasty stuff! Beautiful amber color), DVD watched, with snow falling outside the window.

UPDATE. Not enough sparkling wine. Second bottle acquired, this one plain Brut. FYI - Mountain Dome's website FUBAR.

UPDATE II. Plain Brut not nearly as interesting as Brut Rosé.

Happy birthday!

All that celebration needed, from my point of view, was a little cross country skiing, before the wine, of course.

We've occasionally wondered about cross-country skiing around town — there are some nice paths and bike trails, and we've seen our neighbors (from some cold and snowy ex-Soviet state) trudging down the street with skis on their shoulders. Never actually gotten around to doing anything about it, though.

Skiing before drinking? Killjoy.
