May I have your attention, please? I want to make it perfectly clear that the weird little icon that is now being displayed next to "Progressive Reaction" in the URL bar, bookmarks, and tabs is being foisted upon us by our hosting company, and that we would never intentionally put such a wussy little — thing on our blog.

Just making that perfectly clear.

I noticed the symbol and thought it was strange but assumed you had chosen it, so thanks for clearing that up. Have you considered using a different hosting company?

It truly is horrible, isn't it?

I don't get it. You mean you're paying them for hosting, but you're not allowed to upload a favicon.ico file to your directory?

If you make an ico file, and name it "favicon.ico" and upload it to your own root directory, it should replace the host's wussy icon. If you do that and it doesn't work, try refreshing the page. And if that doesn't work, you can force a new favicon by putting the HTML "link" tag in the "head" area of the page. Here's an example:

<link rel="shortcut icon" HREF="http://blog.gleeson.us/skins/gleeson/g_favicon.ico" />

Thanks for the advice, Sean - but I think you may have hit on the source of the problem. We don't, as a matter of fact, pay them for hosting. We redirect to the aracnet url from another source. Hadn't thought about that, so thanks for the clue-brick!
