The nefarious Professor's hidden mind-control powers extend even further than we thought. In the course of an Instant Messaging conversation on some technical matter with a co-worker yesterday, (a colleague with whom I have never had a non-technical discussion) I made some blindingly obvious comment, and said co-worker responded affirmatively by saying,


 Indeed.


I then made some mildly humorous remark, and the co-worker's response?


 Heh.

Reminds me of a gray-beard's pompous & lengthy pronouncement describing the inverse relationship between innate intelligence and verbosity. When he finally paused for a breath a first-year grad student dared to reply "Oh?"
