Let's see... Reid Stott does that thing he does so well; CNN has discovered Schrödinger's Osama[1]; and a kinda, sorta eulogy for USENET (though I think Shirky overstates his case a bit - USENET's not going anywhere, it's just getting harder to find).

And if a diehard AOL user still wants to play with newsgroups, there's always Google, or a commercial server specializing in NNTP for a service charge slightly above nominal. It's not like they're being locked away from Usenet, and AOL never carried more than half of the available groups anyway.
