The position has been filled. I mentioned below that the op-ed pages of my new Big City Paper, the Des Moines Register, were a rich trove, easily equal in quality to those of Portland, or even Seattle or San Francisco. I am pleased to have discovered that two worthy citizens of my new state, Royce Dunbar and David Hogberg, have long been offering commentary on the Register's delights.
