Meanwhile, Back At The Beauty Pageant A reply to an allegedly offensive remark made by a journalist re the Miss World contest:

Muslims burned down a newspaper office Wednesday to protest an article suggesting Islam's prophet might have chosen a wife from among contestants in the Miss World beauty pageant being hosted by Nigeria. [...] "We Muslims do not provoke other people. But when we are provoked we do not rest until we deal with the offending agent," Datti Ahmad, president of Shariah in Nigeria, a group supporting the adoption of Islamic law, was quoted as saying by Abuja's Daily Trust newspaper.

Nothing provoking about imposing Shariah on non-Muslims, I guess. What a prick. (What I want to know, though, is why Miss USA has not joined the other beauties boycotting the pageant because of that stoning sentence.)

On a more optimistic note, a French court has dismissed a request that it force Oriana Fallaci to shut up.

Miss USA, she's the "lady" that lost her Miss America - North Carolina crown because an ex had topless photos of her. She resigned, then sued, and both girls were at the Miss America pag.

It's an industry for these gals. Just like Tiger playing at Augusta.

exactly, i doubt very much if Miss USA's handlers would allow any un-PC commentary to come out of those surgically-enhanced lips
