Bonnie is now an education specialist who is based in the Administration Building (B.E.S.C.) of the Portland Public Schools, Portland Oregon.

The term pragmaticism means that the whole is greater than the parts....the underlying philosphy to APRICOT, Inc. The whole child, the whole assessment, the whole learning process and so forth. Dr. Ellyn Lucas Arwood has 37 years of clinical experience with a variety of special needs populations in a variety of settings including hospitals, alternate school settings, regular class settings, and clinics. Her specialization is in language which she defines as a set of concepts used to organize a child's or adult's thoughts, behavior, and ability to learn new knowledge. As author of three textbooks in language and numerous materials, Dr. Arwood has provided training, education, and consultation to numerous organizations and agencies. Recent research by Dr. Arwood is in the differentiation between using language that is mentally auditory or visual. Therefore, Dr. Arwood and her colleagues have developed numerous ways to use "language based learning" products and materials to assist children and adults in academic, social and behavioral ways.
The other significant person in APRICOT, Inc. is Mabel Brown, a consultant, trainer and evaluator for learning, language and behavior problems. Ms. Brown is employed full-time by APRICOT, Inc. She provides services to clients of all ages who are needing assistance in organizing their learning, improving their use of language for everyday functioning, and improving academic standing.
