Unix Shell Access

All SpiritOne accounts come with access to a command-line Unix shell. Access is enabled on a per-account. With the exception of shell-only accounts, users wishing to access the shell server need to contact SpiritOne Support at 503-240-8200, or Support@SpiritOne.com, to have shell access enabled.

Our shell server hostname is: onyx.spiritone.com

For security purposes, we prefer that SSH to be used. For Windows users, we recommend PuTTY for use as an SSH client. PuTTY is a standalone application with no installation. When downloading PuTTY, make sure you save it to someplace easily accessed at a later date. (such as your Desktop).
