Atomic Veterans: Family Mail Call

I get several different kinds of email from citizens using the Internet. Most of them are from the atomic veterans. Their stories are fascinating personal narratives and make up the framework of this website, and represent the most important part of this history.

Another kind is from the families of atomic veterans who send mail regarding a loved one who has died or is ill, usually they are inquiries about the veteran's history or about filing a claim with the VA. Sometimes they just want to tell others who understand, something about their father, uncle, grandfather, brother or sister.

The hardships on the veterans families are clear. And I'm including a few emails here to show these personal struggles. The Veterans Administration should be doing much more to ease this situation.

Thanks to those survivors who have sent their email. We encourage any emails with comments from atomic veterans, friends and family. The strength of this web site is the personal histories. Help it grow, contribute your stories. Please email me for details. ~ Keith Whittle
