I was in the US Navy on the USS Benner DDR 807 as a gunners mate. I was responsible for Mount 51, a 5" 38 twin mount. We loaded a 5" missle in the gun breach and fired into the mushroom cloud. This missle registered various tenperature and gas readings.

We were in the Marshall Islands for 3 months. I did a lot of swimming and deep diving for various sea shells and varnished them. I have some still displayed in my home.

I remember sitting on deck with my head in my arms at blast time. I was able to see the bones in my arms. We had no knowledge of any danger or hazard. I believe we were involved in 28 detonations. I would like to know the names of each shot.

I recently got my membership in the National Association of Atomic Veterans.

Thank You.

Sincerely,
Frank Dujanovic
